Horsebackriding Tours Trips in Mongolia
We will fly to Khovd province today. Khovd province is known for its multi-cultural community, which includes more than 17 nationalities and ethnicities. There is a significant minority of Kazakh-Mongols who speak both Kazakh and Mongolian. We will arrive at Hovd Airport after a 3-hour flight. From there, we’ll drive to Namarjin Valley after a quick tour of the town center and Sangiin Kherem. The remains of the Manchu fort in the northern part of Mongolia’s Khovd city are known as Sangiin Kherem in Mongolian.
The fort was constructed in the 18th century and later served as the seat and office of the Manchu amban (governor).

Later today, we’ll pack our belongings and begin our ride through the Namarjin Valley. Many Kazak families will be encountered in the Namarjin Valley. We’ll meet Kazakh families in their traditional Gers. Kazakh gers are larger than Mongolian Gers and brightly decorated with hand-knotted rugs. While chatting and deepening our knowledge of rich Kazakh culture and tradition, we will enjoy a cup of tea and share delicious Kazakh dishes with our hosts, such as Kuz “salted and grilled horse meat” Bisbarmak.

We will ride for an entire day in the direction of the snow-capped Tsambagarav Mountain. Tsambagarav Mountain, Mongolia’s third highest peak, is part of a 110-thousand-hectare national park.
Tsambagarav Uul, which is still snow-capped, straddles the boundary between Khovd and Bayan-Olgii aimags. Despite its height, this towering mountain of 4208 meters has relatively easy access to the summit.

We’re going to climb the Belchiriin Uul and Tsast Uul Mountains today. Beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, and archaeological sites can all be found in this region. There are many glaciers and glacial lakes below the peaks, as well as waterfalls flowing deep into gorges.

A 7-meter-high waterfall flows down a narrow canyon between the mountains, and a glacier and small glacial lake can be found a few kilometers to the east of the waterfall. Hikers who are adamant about climbing will hike up the glacier to the summit. We’ll spend the entire day exploring the lush valleys and hundreds of small lakes.

From the top, we will ride downwards into the Bayangol Valley. From the top of this valley, we will have great views of the Khar Us Nuur Lake.

On our way through the Marra Valley, we’ll encounter more Kazak families. We’ll be engaging with family members (Kazakhs have big families) and experiencing everyday life with them. Kazakhs are known for their friendly hospitality, so expect to be welcomed warmly into their homes.
